Hello Stuffies,

We're thrilled to announce that the "Restitched: Wardrobe Test" program has started!

This area of the game will undergo private testing in multiple phases, with each one introducing new participants and game patches. Our goal is to update this experience alongside incoming bug reports and feedback.

We plan to invite roughly 100+ members during the overall test, with a gradual rollout of invites split by testing phases to ensure the experience is stable enough before bringing in more players. If you're an active member of our community or a longtime trixel+ supporter, keep an eye on your e-mail and/or direct messages! If you're not selected at first, don't worry. We plan to offer extra access keys to the wider community before testing ends.

Testers will have access to a private "testing hub" page on our website. This page will show the latest test version, current confidentiality status, and a selection of resources, including the bug report form and a public Trello board for bug tracking status. Additionally, testers in our Discord can claim the tester role for access to a private Discord forum and a tester chat channel.

We aren't sure how long testing will last. Our priority is using this as a way to get feedback on active development efforts, no matter how long that takes. We'll close shop when we feel things are in a nicer spot where public input is no longer needed.

Note: This test is only valid for Windows PC users. We are also unable to grant invites by request, and testers have already been pre-chosen for the first phases.

What will the Wardrobe Test include?

When you join Stuffy in-game, you'll have access to several core features of the Wardrobe. Those include:

  • Mix-and-match cosmetics across all categories

  • Stamping support for Stuffy and cosmetics

  • Full library of game Stamps to choose from

  • Toolbar features (reset, random pick, wash stamps, save, stamp cursor, workshop, etc.)

  • Design Tool (recolor and choose swatches for nearly all cosmetic pieces)

  • Craftbook/player color choice

  • Craftbook search

  • Saved outfits (your own saves, game presets, and any downloaded Workshop outfits)

  • Steam Workshop menus in-game

  • Unlocked access to the tester reward outfit and exclusive trixel+ shirt

Many assets have been disabled for the sake of testing, as we'd like to hold some content for the full game! Several items were also removed (for now) as we investigate a complex Stamping issue.

What is the goal of testing?

Our goal is to gather feedback on the overall experience of the Wardrobe. We'll ask testers (and ourselves) questions, like "Is it fun?", or "How long is it played on average?", "How do people feel about music choices, menu designs, sound effects, Stuffy, and art assets?", etc...

We're also looking at which types of outfit combinations are possible, and how creative folks can get within limitations. For example, is there enough variety in the Stamps selection? We also want to test network features, like publishing content to the Steam Workshop, to ensure it all works as intended.

Offering early builds can be a risky move, especially for small teams like ours. This is why it's important to keep a sense of privacy during the first phase(s) until we can address major issues and get the game to a more presentable state. This is our first-ever attempt at hosting a 'public' test program, so 'bear' with us as we learn in the process!

Although testers will be bound to a temporary confidentiality agreement, we look forward to lifting this as we settle into the program. We're sure to see some fun outfits shared online when this happens!

This is an exciting opportunity for both sides, as it'll be the first time a part of the game is in the community's hands. We're equally hyped (and nervous) to share this huge part of ourselves with you, and we hope our testers will enjoy exploring Stuffy's wardrobe and helping us squash pesky bugs and iron out the experience until things are more refined and fun!

With love,

Team Trixel
